Christmas

December 2005, by Gini

Leading up to Christmas we took a few days off and missioned it up to the mount (Mt Manuganui) to join the Turner parents for some sun, surf and timeshare comfort. Since the Mount was Gini's second home we did the tiki tour for Tom, consisting of the beach, Bayfair, KFC and the Mountain itself. The beach attitude soon took hold and the way of life slowed to a comfortable relaxing mood which involved swimming and soaking up the sun. We did however have a surge of energy and managed to achieve a mini practise tramp up the Mt (in training for Mt Holdsworth) all 20mins of it - I swear it was bigger!!!, after that great achievement we thought a Iced chocolate reward was in order and an afternoon nap - holiday mode of course.

The fun in the sun came to an end so we headed back to Wellington for a Christmas with both families.

Christmas day started with the Turner traditional brunch gathering which consisted of friends, blueberry muffins, presents, croissants and loads of strawberries and bubbly. Once our stomach's had regained their natural size and were in need of more we headed over to the Peck's home for a fabulous feast and more presents. We managed to get through the pile that Santa had left before Tom developed a 24 hour virus and ended up in bed - with no dinner! Poor baby.

Gini ate and talked enough for the both of them but traded Christmas pudding for a sickly child. (Personal joke) It was a special day sharing Christmas with both families and their traditions and especially with you Tom! g
